Hello

My name is MaKenzie Owens, and welcome to my digital portfolio! I am originally from Mandeville, Louisiana, but I relocated to Ruston, Louisiana, to pursue my degree at Louisiana Tech University. In May of 2024, I received my bachelor of science in Marketing with a concentration in Sports Marketing and a minor in Fashion Merchandising and Retail Studies. After graduation, I plan on pursuing a career in the marketing aspect of the sports world.

This past football season I was the Digital Media Manager of the GSU account for The nXlvl App. I was responsible for building brand platforms for GSU Football Players while posting behind-the-scenes content. I was also an intern for The Hue Jackson Foundation, where I assisted with media for events and coaching clinics.

During the football season of Fall 2022, I was an intern for The Grambling State University Athletics Department. I photographed sporting events and assisted in hosting official and unofficial visits for recruits for all athletics.

During the football season of Fall 2021, I had the opportunity to work with Louisiana Tech Football. While working with the football program, I was the team photographer and recruiting assistant. I assisted in hosting official and unofficial visits for their recruits. I also traveled with the team for gamedays and took practice photos.

I had the opportunity to take pictures for Louisiana Tech Baseball in 2022 and I was hired to photograph the American Society of Civil Engineers National Concrete Canoe Competition in the summer of 2022.
